Social Carbon Copy is the story of Malaysian punk band Spunky Funggy, which became the first Malaysian band to tour outside the country. In a time before social media and when the Internet was still relatively new, the band organized and executed their plan to take their music international.

Fueled by strong DIY ethics and sheer grit, the book is a retelling of the disastrous Australian tour and the subsequent Thailand tour, told and seen through the eyes of front man Francis Wolf. The contents of the book are the actual notes from his journals, written in 2002.

You may have read many rock-o-journals before, but this one is from Malaysia. Looking back at a time when many bands here never considered touring outside the country, be it punk, indie, or even mainstream. All done on a shoestring budget.

Social Carbon Copy is the embodiment of what punk music is —raw, direct, and in your face.
